The API Quality Engineer will be instrumental in enhancing our Digital Banking Solutions. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the company's digital evolution, promote user-focused innovation, and establish our organization as a frontrunner in the digital banking sector. The key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the development, planning, and execution of thorough quality assurance methodologies and testing protocols specifically designed for APIs across various frameworks.
  • Creating detailed test plans, scenarios, and cases for functional, non-functional, regression, and performance testing of APIs, ensuring comprehensive coverage of requirements and user interactions.
  • Designing, implementing, and sustaining automated testing frameworks and scripts utilizing tools such as Selenium, TestRail, or similar, to enhance regression testing and ensure consistency.
  • Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps, collaborating with DevOps teams to embed automated testing within the development process.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest testing tools, technologies, and best practices, evaluating their relevance to improve testing efficiency, coverage, and accuracy for APIs.
  • Conducting performance, load, and scalability testing of APIs to pinpoint bottlenecks, optimize application performance, and guarantee a seamless user experience across various scenarios.
  • Working alongside security teams to implement and execute API security testing, including vulnerability assessments and compliance checks to meet industry standards.
  • Identifying, prioritizing, and tracking defects using bug tracking systems and collaborating with development teams to ensure prompt resolution and validation of fixes.
  • Assessing API usability and design through usability testing, A/B testing, and user feedback analysis to improve overall application quality and user satisfaction.
  • Documenting test plans, cases, results, and metrics, generating comprehensive reports and dashboards for stakeholders, highlighting quality insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, designers, and QA teams, communicating testing progress and issues clearly.

Professional Qualifications

  • Expertise in developing test plans, cases, and scenarios for APIs.
  • Experience in functional, regression, usability, performance, and security testing of APIs.
  • Familiarity with consumer-driven contract testing using tools such as Pact.
  • Proficiency with API testing frameworks like Rest Assured, mocha/chai, and Postman.
  • Experience with test reporting tools such as ReportPortal, TestRail, Allure, etc.
  • Strong hands-on experience in creating and maintaining automated test scripts for APIs.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript for automation tasks.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and collaborating with DevOps teams.
  • Understanding of API development frameworks and technologies to effectively design and execute testing strategies.
  • Ability to analyze logs, debug issues, and troubleshoot API performance and functionality issues.
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, processes, and best practices, including agile testing methodologies.
  • Experience in maintaining test documentation and defect tracking using tools like Jira or similar.
  • Effective communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to articulate testing progress and findings to stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify test scenarios and prioritize testing efforts.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues and collaborate with teams to resolve challenges.
