Key Responsibilities:
- Code Review and Analysis: Conduct thorough reviews of patient medical records to assign accurate ICD-10 codes and map diagnoses to HCC categories.
- Coding Compliance: Ensure adherence to coding guidelines, industry standards, and regulatory requirements to maintain compliance.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with healthcare providers and clinical staff to obtain necessary documentation and resolve coding issues.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits to ensure coding accuracy and completeness.
- Staying Current: Stay up-to-date with updates to coding standards, guidelines, and regulations.
Requirements:
- Experience: 1+ year of recent HCC coding experience post-apprenticeship.
- Certification: Certification as a Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in ICD-10 coding, HCC categories, and risk adjustment models.
- Personal Qualities: Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical abilities, and effective communication skills.
