Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Maintenance Supervisor, with the potential for career advancement to the Director of Building Operations.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for overseeing the planning, coordination, and management of maintenance operations, environmental services, security, and grounds management within our community. This role ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and standards to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and guide team members in managing their work assignments based on established priorities and community needs.
  • Oversee the hiring, training, and evaluation of department staff, ensuring a high standard of service and performance.
  • Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures, regularly reviewing and updating them as necessary.
  • Manage project oversight, including the evaluation of bids and contracts, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Direct waste management processes, including recycling and the handling of hazardous materials.
  • Act as the community's emergency preparedness coordinator, maintaining and practicing the Emergency Preparedness plan.
  • Encourage and integrate resident-centered initiatives, supporting programs that promote successful aging.
  • Monitor and adhere to the annual budget for building operations.
  • Establish and maintain a preventative maintenance program in line with organizational standards.
  • Plan and schedule training programs for maintenance and environmental services staff.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational training in relevant fields is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a healthcare or residential services environment is preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of maintenance practices, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general facility upkeep.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
