About the Role:
The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring that designated areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly fashion. This role involves collaborating with the Director of Environmental Services to address equipment needs and oversee necessary repairs. The Housekeeper also ensures that waste disposal services are executed as planned and assists with scheduling and special projects as needed.
Compensation:
$16 - $18/hr

Essential Duties:
1. Adhere to hospital policies by washing and remaking beds after patient discharge.
2. Keep utility and storage areas clean and organized.
3. Follow infection control protocols by transporting soiled linens and distributing clean items.
4. Perform floor maintenance including sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing while minimizing slip and fall hazards.
5. Clean carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
6. Dust furniture and equipment thoroughly.
7. Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, and door panels.
8. Empty waste receptacles and manage trash disposal.
9. Follow standard precautions and safety guidelines, including MSDS instructions for materials used.
10. Comply with infection control measures and safety regulations.
Customer Service:
1. Embrace the AIDET approach to customer service (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank-You) to enhance the customer experience.
2. Maintain professional boundaries and awareness.
3. Answer telephones promptly with a professional greeting.
4. Address critical customer interactions with advanced skills and timely resolutions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in housekeeping is advantageous.
Skills Required:
1. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
2. Knowledge of basic environmental service duties.
3. Understanding of universal precautions.
4. Strong oral and written communication skills.
Additional Requirements:
Maintain current certifications in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and complete annual professional skills verification.
