Waste Management Specialist

As a Waste Management Specialist at the University of Wisconsin, you will play a critical role in ensuring the institution's solid waste and recycling materials are collected, transported, and disposed of in compliance with environmental and governmental laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate large solid waste removal trucks and heavy equipment to collect, transport, and dump the institution's solid waste and recycling materials.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and governmental laws on what can and cannot be landfilled.
- Identify and report all refuse containers and equipment in need of repair or replacement.
- Collect and transport various types of metal and materials.
- Perform snow removal duties in assigned areas when necessary.
- Perform refuse collection for special events as needed.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 1 year experience of driving and operating heavy duty trucks with air brakes.
- Valid and meets UW Risk Management Standards.
- Forklift Operator Certification.
- CDL - Commercial Drivers License.
