Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Visiting Assistant Professor in Political Science to join our team at the George Washington University. The successful candidate will serve as the primary faculty and Program Coordinator for the International Politics cohort of the Women's Leadership Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach small classes of first-year students for the Women's Leadership Program and the University Honors Program.
  • Develop and implement curriculum for Introduction to International Politics and Introduction to Comparative Politics.
  • Provide academic mentorship and advising to students in the International Politics cohort.
  • Participate in WLP orientation, information sessions for prospective students, and other campus events.
  • Contribute to the development of co-curricular offerings and activities to enhance the academic experiences of all WLP students.
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in Political Science or a related field.
  • Excellent teaching skills and a strong desire to teach and mentor undergraduate students.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion in the classroom.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong vision for integrating co-curricular offerings and activities to enhance student experiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve program goals.
