Key Responsibilities:
Underwriting Expertise:
Utilize advanced underwriting principles to assess risks, identify exposures, and evaluate coverage implications. Employ all necessary underwriting tools to ensure compliance with established guidelines.
Maintain thorough documentation practices that adhere to regulatory standards while clearly articulating account decisions.
Portfolio Management:
Oversee a designated portfolio to meet financial objectives, including gross written premium and profitability targets. Analyze market trends to uncover potential business opportunities and foster relationships with agents.
Demonstrate a keen understanding of market dynamics that influence pricing strategies and contribute to overall business growth.
Relationship Building:
Engage with agents and clients to cultivate trust and facilitate negotiations, ultimately enhancing retention rates. Stay informed on industry regulations and trends to strengthen agent partnerships.
Implement strategic business plans to ensure a robust pipeline for future growth and make presentations to stakeholders on complex accounts.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is required, along with 3-7 years of underwriting experience, specifically in Middle Market accounts. Proven success in managing agency relationships that yield profitable business is essential.
