Position Overview:

Join our dedicated team at Racker as a full-time Preschool Support Specialist, working 31 hours per week with young children in a specialized integrated classroom setting. This role involves training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to effectively support the unique strengths and needs of autistic students. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing individualized support to each child in the classroom while assisting with their participation in group activities.
  • Facilitating self-help skills such as potty training and daily living tasks.
  • Engaging in data collection and analysis to monitor student progress.
  • Preparing educational materials and assisting the teacher in classroom management.
  • Collaborating with the teaching staff to enhance the learning environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support individual children and assist with the overall needs of the classroom under the guidance of the classroom teacher.

  • Collaborate with the teacher to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Review IEPs and relevant information to aid in the children's social-emotional and educational development.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support skill development.
  • Accept constructive feedback from supervisors and contribute positively to team dynamics.
  • Attend all necessary meetings and provide input regarding classroom activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and collect data as required.
  • Communicate professionally with families as directed by the classroom teacher.
  • Assist in maintaining classroom operations in the absence of the special education teacher.
  • Foster a positive and respectful work environment through professional conduct.
  • Complete required training and uphold professional standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
