POSITION SUMMARY:
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for the receipt, storage, inventory management, and dispatch of products, supplies, and equipment. This role involves maintaining accurate records related to the ordering, receiving, and shipping of materials. The clerk will ensure that inventory storage areas are organized and that items are stored in their designated locations, supporting overall operational efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Verify incoming shipments by counting, sorting, or weighing goods to ensure accuracy against shipping documentation.
- Assess the quality and quantity of received items, ensuring compliance with purchase orders and specifications, while checking for any damage or discrepancies.
- Exercise authority to inspect and determine the acceptance or rejection of received goods.
- Document any discrepancies noted during the receiving process and forward the necessary paperwork to the appropriate department.
- Organize and store items in designated locations within the warehouse, facilitating efficient retrieval and distribution.
- Coordinate with relevant personnel regarding returns, rejections, and credits, ensuring accurate data entry into the inventory management system.
- Compile and maintain records from various sources, including contracts and invoices, to support inventory and shipping operations.
- Manage back orders by maintaining an organized file system and releasing items for shipment as they become available.
- Process supply requisitions by checking inventory levels, retrieving items, and logging them out of the warehouse.
- Prepare purchase orders or requisitions for additional stock as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or training, or a combination of education and experience.
- Experience in a restaurant setting is preferred.
- Possession of a Class II gaming license as required by regulatory authorities.
- Valid driver's license.
- Current food worker certification.
- Forklift certification is required.
