Job Description

The Greater Baltimore Committee is seeking a highly skilled Regional Innovation Director to lead the development and implementation of economic growth initiatives in the Baltimore region. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic organization and contribute to the region's economic vitality.

About the Role

The Regional Innovation Director will be responsible for:

  • Developing and managing relationships with key regional stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem;
  • Providing regular updates to the Regional Innovation Officer and other internal leadership on progress, strategic alignment, and operational activities of the Tech Hub;
  • Implementing systems and processes to support governance, track performance, and measure the success of the Tech Hub Consortium;
  • Developing communications for regional stakeholders about activities and outcomes;
  • Overseeing and managing budget for the Regional Innovation office, ensuring compliance with funding guidelines and the optimization of resource allocation;
  • Developing and implementing practices that support overall innovation agenda and goals;
  • Developing institutionalized processes for the oversight and interconnection of the Tech Hub's innovation and other critical assets;
  • Supporting the development of a Tech Hub marketing and branding approach for the region and nationally;
  • Leading the selection and implementation of technology solutions that support the Tech Hub's operations, including grant administration, data management, and other critical technology needs, ensuring platforms are scalable and effective;
  • Monitoring and reporting on the progress of grant-funded projects, ensuring compliance with all requirements, effective fund utilization, and proactive identification and resolution of issues related to fraud, waste or abuse;
  • Collaborating with the Director of Events in planning, managing, and executing Tech-Hub events, site visits and other activities that showcase consortium member achievements and foster stakeholder engagement;
  • Supporting the monitoring for fraud, waste, and/or abuse identification, reporting, and remediation;
  • Staying up-to-date on latest industry trends and developments.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare, Life Sciences, or other related field;
  • 4-6 years of progressive experience in economic development, project management, or strategic development initiatives in the healthcare or technology sector, with particular focus on Biotech and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning fields;
  • Subject matter knowledge in the Healthcare and/or Life Sciences industries;
  • Experience establishing goals and metrics to measure progress and risk mitigation plans;
  • Understanding of federal and state grants management policies and procedures;
  • Excellent project management skill, including strong time management, planning, and working with other teams internal and external to the organization;
  • Creative ability to develop and recommend new ideas and strategies that can improve the outcomes and executive of new programming;
  • Experience working in fast-paced, entrepreneurial cultured environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
