About the Role

CS Energy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our project operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of our renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead by example in adherence to Quality and Safety Programs, fostering a culture of excellence and compliance within the project team.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding project status updates, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure timely and accurate information sharing.
  • Comfortably lead internal, client, and subcontractor meetings, providing meeting minutes and follow-ups as needed, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Familiarize yourself with all requirements and exhibits of the EPC contracts, ensuring a deep understanding of project scope and obligations.
  • Maintain internal trackers for quantity and production tracking, providing real-time insights into project progress.
  • Assist the Project Manager with finance functions, including client billings, project forecasting, risk analysis, vendor/subcontractor payments, change management, and self-perform analysis.
  • Participate in CPM schedule reviews, maintaining schedules to ensure timely completion of all milestones, and collaborate with project controls to identify critical paths, flag delays, and adjust resources.
  • Assist the Project Manager in procurement process, scoping, and contracting of subcontractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors, including contract management, change management, notifications regarding Quality or EHS deficiencies, and weekly subcontractor meetings.
  • Actively promote and encourage company culture onsite, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Assist the Project Manager in pre-EPC bid estimates, ensuring accurate and comprehensive project planning.
  • Assist with initiatives such as mentoring, training, onboarding, and conducting interviews, contributing to the growth and development of team members.
  • Train field engineers and less experienced employees, ensuring knowledge transfer and skill development.
  • Conduct interviews when requested, providing objective and informed assessments of candidate qualifications.
  • Take financial responsibility for assigned vendors, subcontractors, or self-perform activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Foster positive and productive meetings between internal teams, promoting collaboration and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Renewable Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1-3+ years of relevant construction industry experience, with progressively greater responsibility.
  • Successfully led and managed complex projects or portfolios valued at $5+ million.
  • Experience leading, motivating, and managing various project team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team members accountable.
  • Experience with successfully leading projects to on-schedule and within budget completion.
  • Experience with project start-up meetings, project drawings, project execution plans, and subcontractor and vendor buyouts.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
  • Success in managing subcontractors and developing and executing project changes.
  • Familiarity with developing accurate cost-to-complete estimates, costing, and pricing change orders, and maximizing profits.
  • Strong proficiency in Word and Excel, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Bluebeam (or similar).
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and people skills are essential.
  • Solid time management skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel and/or temporarily relocate to project construction sites every 3-12 months throughout your region of the United States.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Project (or similar scheduling software), and Bluebeam (or similar), with experience presenting to stakeholders and senior leadership.
