Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef Assistant to join our team at Marriott Baltimore Inner Harbor. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring the highest quality of food and service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Production and Quality Control: Oversee the preparation and presentation of all food items, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Staff Management: Manage and motivate a team of cooks, sous chefs, and other kitchen staff to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and control food and supply inventory, minimizing waste and ensuring optimal stock levels.
  • Menu Planning and Development: Assist in the creation and implementation of new menu items, specials, and promotions.
  • Cost Control and Budgeting: Analyze and manage food costs, labor costs, and other expenses to ensure profitability and efficiency.
  • Health and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Collaborate with other departments, including front-of-house staff, to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: 2+ years of post-high school education and 5+ years of experience in a related position, preferably in a hotel or restaurant environment.
  • Leadership and Management Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Advanced knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and safety, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
