Job Summary

The Banquet Sous Chef is a key member of our culinary team, responsible for preparing food for service according to assignment by the Executive Chef and/or Banquet Chef. This role requires a high level of skill, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the production of daily specials for our restaurant
  • Set up plating lines for functions and assist with plating duties
  • Utilize experience in high-volume production to ensure efficient and high-quality food preparation
  • Apply foundation in baking methods, unit conversions, and standardized recipes to create exceptional dishes
  • Develop strong knife skills and maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Understand and adhere to safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our guests
  • Take direction from senior chefs and work collaboratively with other staff members to achieve our culinary goals
  • Communicate effectively with managers, kitchen, and dining room personnel to ensure seamless service
  • Perform other special, ad-hoc duties as requested by the Executive Chef

Requirements

  • 5 years' relevant experience in fine dining or a related field
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and management

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, and twist or reach
  • Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds
  • Continuous repetitive motions
  • Work in a hot, humid, and noisy environment

Job Overview and Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Full-time position with flexible shifts, including weekends and evenings
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Experience in fine dining required
  • Ability to lift, pull, or lift up to 35 pounds, stand/walk 8-12 hours
  • Must be available to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
