Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electronics Engineer/Computer Scientist to join our team at the Department of Defense. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert knowledge and guidance on computer and information systems sciences and engineering, as well as their interrelationships to solve challenging contingency and communications problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert knowledge on computer and information systems sciences and engineering, and their interrelationships to solve challenging contingency and communications problems.
  • Assist the team with the selection of proper technical methods and problem-solving techniques.
  • Participate and provide advice and expertise to Program Executive Officers, Project Managers, senior engineers/scientists, hardware/software developers, technical staff, policy makers throughout DoD, the Federal government, and foreign governments.
  • Lead, coach, guide, and direct the work of subordinates to ensure the efficient/effective accomplishment of assigned functions.
  • Review and coordinate research and development efforts in computer/telecommunications areas that have significant impact on national contingency needs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
  • At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.
  • One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position.
