We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our GenAI Innovation Center team at Amazon Web Services, Inc. As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and evaluating innovative machine learning models to solve diverse challenges and opportunities across industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop innovative machine learning models to solve complex business problems
  • Interact with customers directly to understand their business challenges and provide guidance on how to implement scalable Generative AI solutions
  • Work closely with account teams, research scientist teams, and product engineering teams to drive model implementations and new solution development
A Day in the Life
  • Collaborate with a GenAI strategist to understand customer problems and provide guidance on how to address them
  • Share experiment results and challenges with other scientists on the team
  • Contribute to blog posts to share results and methods used in customer success stories
  • Attend or deliver tech talks to highlight project achievements
  • Provide feedback to team members during code reviews
  • Meet with customer stakeholders to demonstrate progress on customer problems

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in data querying languages, scripting languages, or statistical/mathematical software
  • Experience in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing, neural deep learning methods, and/or machine learning
  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience or Master's degree and 4 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, operations research, or a highly quantitative field
  • Practical experience in solving complex problems in an applied environment
  • Hands-on experience with deep learning (e.g., CNN, RNN, LSTM, Transformer)
