Electrical Construction Project Supervisor with Estimating Expertise

The Electrical Project Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of electrical and specialty systems construction initiatives. This position demands a meticulous professional who excels in managing intricate projects while balancing profitability and quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the planning, coordination, scheduling, and management of electrical construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, profitably, and in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Manage comprehensive project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, addendums, proposal requests, change orders, and meeting minutes.
  • Review client contracts and provide feedback for approval by senior management.
  • Maintain up-to-date project drawings and specifications for both field and office personnel.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of project submittals, including those from subcontractors.
  • Prepare and issue change orders for work outside the original contract scope.
  • Facilitate accurate and timely project closeout, including punchlist completion, as-builts, and maintenance manuals.
  • Maintain warranty logs and oversee day-to-day administrative tasks as necessary.
  • Lead the development of project-specific safety plans in collaboration with the Safety Department.
  • Contribute to the estimating and preconstruction phases of prospective projects.
  • Manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and daily reporting.
  • Procure materials in partnership with the Purchasing Manager to ensure timely deliveries aligned with project schedules.
  • Analyze project materials, equipment, and practices, offering recommendations for enhancements.
  • Foster professional relationships with owners, contractors, and municipalities to monitor project progress and address concerns proactively.
  • Support and mentor junior team members, enhancing their skills and capabilities.
  • Utilize various software tools, including CRS, PTS, Apex, ConEst, and Sage, to manage project tasks effectively.

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and challenges.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven time management abilities with a track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Capacity to build relationships that extend beyond individual projects.
  • Advanced understanding of electrical construction terminology, blueprints, and contractual requirements.
  • High-level analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective leadership skills to guide a team from project inception to completion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Industry Experience: A minimum of 10 years in project management for projects exceeding $20 million.

Estimating Experience: Proven ability to prepare and analyze electrical estimates.

People Management Experience: At least 5 years of experience managing direct reports.
