We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist II to join our team at Nuvance Health. As a key member of our Pulmonary Medicine department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients, collaborating with healthcare teams, and contributing to the development of our respiratory therapy programs.
Key Responsibilities- Respiratory Care Delivery: Provide clinical evaluation and delivery of respiratory care to patients, including therapeutic modalities, ventilator management, and pulmonary function testing.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with healthcare teams, including physicians, nurses, and other respiratory therapists, to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
- Education and Training: Provide instruction and training to respiratory and nursing students, medical staff, patients, and families on respiratory care and disease management.
- Documentation and Quality Improvement: Accurately document patient care and treatment, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance respiratory care services.
- Competency and Certification: Maintain current competencies in respiratory therapy modalities, including Servo i, Draeger V500, V60, AVEA, and MRI-compatible ventilators.
- Education: Associate's degree from an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
- Experience: Minimum one year of experience in respiratory care.
- Licensure: Licensure in the State of Connecticut as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
- Credentials: Basic Life Support certification, National Board for Respiratory Care certification, and Respiratory Care Practitioner certification.
This is a per diem position, working variable shifts, including days, nights, and weekends. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
