Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Event Security Coordinator to join our team at Boise State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing staff engaged in campus and special event security, performing related work, and ensuring the highest level of security required for campus events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and direct security activities for special events, including traffic and crowd control, substance abuse awareness, and first aid.
  • Investigate campus incidents, such as thefts, vandalism, and assaults, and write and file reports with authorities.
  • Prepare training materials and conduct training for full- and part-time security staff, ensuring that sufficient inventory of supplies and equipment is available.
  • Compute costs to provide security at special events and bill responsible parties.
  • Participate in hiring of staff, schedule personnel to ensure adequate security coverage, and evaluate staff performance.
Requirements
  • Good knowledge of self-defense measures, first aid, security problems, and safety hazards as they relate to a large complex of buildings and grounds.
  • Some knowledge of supervisory practices.
  • Experience in performing investigations incidental to security activities, training others in security procedures, completing investigative reports, and making oral presentations.
