Position Overview
Texas Oncology is seeking a dedicated New Patient Coordinator to enhance our patient care experience. This full-time role is essential in supporting our operations and ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care.

The New Patient Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the new patient referral process, ensuring a seamless experience for patients and their families. This position involves direct interaction with patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff to coordinate appointments and gather necessary information.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire new patient referral process, ensuring adherence to departmental standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service as the initial point of contact for patients and stakeholders.
- Assess patient needs to prioritize and triage referrals effectively.
- Manage phone inquiries, messages, and routine questions from patients and healthcare professionals.
- Follow up on outstanding medical records and test results from referring physicians.
- Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information, ensuring accurate registration in the practice management system.
- Facilitate insurance benefit investigations and eligibility checks.
- Communicate appointment details clearly to patients, including time, location, and necessary instructions.
- Distribute and collect medical forms required prior to the patient's first visit.
- Maintain and update physician schedules to ensure proper patient appointments.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to accommodate scheduling requests.
- Document and update patient records accurately in designated systems.
- Uphold confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of two years of experience in revenue cycle management or patient access within the healthcare sector is preferred.
- Familiarity with various practice management and electronic health record systems is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes is essential.
- Completion of mandatory onboarding and training is required within the initial period of employment.
