Industrial Mechanic Trainee

The Industrial Mechanic Trainee supports seasoned Industrial Mechanics in diagnosing mechanical issues and executing necessary repairs on industrial machinery. Key responsibilities include providing mechanical assistance, conducting preventative maintenance, installation, servicing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with various operational machines in a manufacturing environment. This role involves performing essential tasks under the guidance of a senior mechanic, with additional duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

In collaboration with a Senior Mechanic, the Industrial Mechanic Trainee will undertake the following tasks:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and install industrial mechanical systems.
  • Disassemble machinery to identify issues and reassemble post-repair.
  • Test and calibrate equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor machinery performance, clean, lubricate, and test machine components.
  • Rebuild pumps, cylinders, and various mechanical systems as required, adhering to standard operating procedures.
  • Minimize equipment failures, enhance operational uptime, and foster overall reliability.
  • Capable of testing, calibrating, troubleshooting, overhauling, and repairing control, indication, and measurement devices to ensure specified operational performance using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Must be able to perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment, including but not limited to rain gear, chemical protective clothing, respirators, safety harnesses, and safety glasses.
  • While executing job responsibilities, the employee is frequently required to have full mobility in both upper and lower body, reach overhead, and work in various positions such as standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: No minimum educational requirements.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of industrial experience.
