Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with expertise in commercial, residential, and industrial mechanical systems and failure analysis. The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating and assessing complex failures in mechanical systems, determining the cause of failures, and providing expert opinions.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct field investigations and failure analysis of commercial, residential, and industrial mechanical systems and components.
- Determine the cause of mechanical failures, gas-related fires and explosions, product liability, construction, or design defects.
- Inspect losses and loss scenes at residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
- Investigate and assess damages and evidence due to failures and determine the origin of failure for insurers and litigation support.
- Analyze and document the failure analysis and causation of failures.
- Examine and test evidence in a laboratory setting and research failure modes, products, installations, and maintenance related to findings.
- Collaborate with other experts to produce detailed reports outlining the origin and cause of losses and damages.
- Serve as an expert witness in court and/or depositions.
- Document and maintain billable hours on a time and expense basis for failure analysis and forensic engineering projects for clients.
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license, minimum required for resident state (FL).
- Multi-state licensing and/or active NCEES Record.
- Expert witness testimony experience is a plus.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
