Job Title: Business Development Manager

James Hardie Building Products Inc. is a leading manufacturer of fiber cement home siding and exterior design solutions. We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to join our team in Chicago, IL.

Job Summary:

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for growing and cultivating the James Hardie business through aggressive identification and selective partnering with targeted potential customers. This role will focus on increasing sales volume within assigned markets and identifying new business opportunities to contribute to the current and future sales pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Acquire key influential customers in targeted geographies and assist them through the transition to James Hardie.
  • Support customers as they move to James Hardie by eliminating barriers to conversion and creating a positive customer experience.
  • Execute segmentation to evaluate and assess the market and lead all aspects of the customer sales process.
  • Build momentum in the market by leveraging key conversions with other builders or developers to amplify the trend in the market.
  • Identify influential builders and developers that will drive trends in future home development through sustainable relationships.
  • Manage and hold themselves accountable to a priority-based schedule with prospective customers.
  • Partner successfully across the sales organization to transition stable accounts to focused account managers.
  • Develop a solid understanding of company products, customer programs, and benefits, and our market development sales approach to effectively engage with prospective customers.
  • Analyze and interpret data to drive decision-making.
  • Host, lead, and present in front of large audiences.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of sales experience in a high-touch sales environment.
  • Prior track record of success in a business development role.
  • Ability to work with and understand complex channels and distribution models.
  • Basic understanding of fundamental financial concepts.
  • Valid driver's license and Bachelor's Degree required.
