Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of medical assistants, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of excellent patient care.
  • Develop and implement effective scheduling and workflow processes to optimize productivity and efficiency.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to medical assistants to improve their skills and performance.
  • Collaborate with the practice manager to develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training and education to medical assistants on new procedures, policies, and technologies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports, including staff performance evaluations and patient care data.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with industry developments and best practices.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a medical assistant, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with electronic medical records (EMRs).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Nationally recognized certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
  • Experience with Athenahealth practice management system.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills.
  • IV certification.
