Position Overview: PC LAN Technician

Russell Tobin & Associates is currently seeking a PC LAN Technician I to join our team.

Key Information:

Location: Remote
Compensation: $22/hour DOE
Contract Duration: 11+ Months (Potential for extension)

Role Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will report to the Desktop Refresh Project Manager and collaborate with various departmental representatives, customer liaisons, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the distribution, tracking, configuration, and customer interactions for desktops, laptops, monitors, and other peripherals.
  • Updating the ServiceNow Asset Management (SNAM) portal with essential details.
  • Analyzing and correcting SNAM data within defined responsibilities.
  • Assisting the Project Coordinator in managing project documentation, status reports, estimates, timelines, and end-user documentation.
  • Coordinating logistics and scheduling with department liaisons and Service Desk representatives for configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Managing product inventories and processing device recycling requests.
  • Addressing unique issues as they arise.

Technical Duties:

The technician will be responsible for:

  • Image/reimage laptops and desktops.
  • Managing outgoing and incoming inventory.
  • Relocating equipment to various locations.
  • Conducting break-fix and quality assurance checks.
  • Installing applications locally and via Microsoft SCCM.
  • Engaging with vendors for service support.
  • Providing assistance to customers during initial setup activities for software and printers.
  • Resolving technical issues and responding to queries through telephone or self-service tickets.
  • Diagnosing and analyzing problems using historical database records.
  • Maintaining and updating records and tracking databases.
  • Notifying management of recurring issues and patterns.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Proficiency in Active Directory for managing objects.
  • Experience with IMAC processes in a Windows PC environment.
  • Knowledge of PC hardware and the ability to recommend appropriate configurations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building effective relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with audit procedures and basic financial principles.
  • Experience with ServiceNow and understanding of Asset Management.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to instruct on basic computer principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude.
