About the Role

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber, Inc. (FTCH) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality structural engineering services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with structural department staff to conceptualize economical structural systems for various project types.
  • Apply technical expertise and knowledge of materials, structural analysis, and structural design to a wide range of materials, including structural steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry.
  • Manage project teams of structural staff on occasion.
  • Assist in developing marketing fees and proposals with other technical staff and potential teaming partners.
  • Apply structural design principles to develop excellent quality design drawings and specifications.
  • Show competency with standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, and ACI 318.
  • Exercise excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering, with Structural emphasis.
  • PE license in Michigan or ability to obtain by reciprocity.
  • Ten years of Structural Engineering consulting business experience.
  • Familiarity with modeling in a BIM environment (preferably with Revit software).
  • Experience with analytical/design software such as RISA, RAM, and Tedds.
  • Familiarity with standards such as AISC 341, ACI 350, ACI 530, and NDS.
