VECTOR North America is looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Project Engineer to contribute to our innovative team that designs, constructs, and delivers tailored Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems. These systems are essential for enhancing the efficiency of testing and validation processes on customized test benches. Our HIL test systems are specifically crafted for simulation and test automation, utilizing advanced Vector tools such as CANoe, vTESTstudio, and VT-Systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Creating and executing HIL testing strategies that align with client specifications.
  • Regularly engaging with clients to comprehend their objectives, challenges, and needs regarding HIL testing systems.
  • Identifying, detailing, and proposing projects that facilitate the integration of Vector HIL solutions into client initiatives.
  • Delivering HIL testing solutions utilizing Vector tools, including CANoe, vTESTstudio, and VT-Systems.
  • Maintaining communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle, from delivery to ongoing support.
  • Selecting and collaborating with test bench suppliers to fulfill project specifications.
  • Working alongside global project teams to address client requirements effectively.
  • Conducting presentations to advocate for Vector HIL solutions within client organizations.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in vehicle networking, test system design, development, and delivery of HIL testers.
  • 5+ years of experience with automotive networking standards such as CAN, LIN, MOST, and Ethernet.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++/C#/Python is preferred.
  • Familiarity with XML, .NET, and MATLAB/Simulink is advantageous.
  • An understanding of OEM/Tier 1 automotive ECU development and testing processes.
  • Strong hardware and system design expertise.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively at all levels within client organizations.
  • Robust analytical and conceptual abilities.
  • The capability to thrive in a collaborative environment with a strong sense of urgency to meet and exceed client expectations.
  • The ability to identify, develop, and propose HIL solutions for current or prospective clients.
  • Willingness to travel to client locations as required (typically less than 30%).
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
