This role entails managing all facets of the financial operations within Culbertson Resources Inc., encompassing general ledger management, financial disclosures, taxation, treasury functions, statutory reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll processing, fixed asset management, and overseeing the external audit procedure. Key Responsibilities

● Provide visionary leadership and strategic oversight for the corporate accounting division.

● Ensure precise reporting of the organization's financial statements to facilitate informed decision-making by management.

● Guarantee the timely completion of monthly closing processes, ensuring all financial data is accurate and adheres to GAAP standards.

● Manage the planning and execution of the annual audit conducted by external auditors, ensuring it is completed within the designated timeframe and budget.

● Establish and enforce internal controls to effectively oversee all accounting and finance operations.

  1. ● Serve as the primary contact for external tax professionals to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  2. ● Identify and advocate for process enhancement opportunities throughout the organization.

● Support the CFO with confidential special projects as needed.

Essential Competencies

● Oversee all accounting operations, including operational and cost accounting practices relevant to government contracts, as well as inventory accounting, ensuring compliance with FAR, DFARS, GAAP, and other pertinent regulations.

● Coordinate and supervise audits with government entities (DCAA) and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries to ensure compliance and transparency.

● Develop and uphold accounting policies and procedures tailored to government contracting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to FAR, DFARS, and other relevant regulations.

● Manage the month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliation of contract-related accounts and preparation of financial statements.

● Proficiency in ERP systems, including implementation, software upgrades, business process engineering, and project management.

● Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of effectively conveying key information through presentations to senior management, the board, or external stakeholders.

● Experience in team leadership, particularly in environments focused on scaling and growth.

● Compliance management regarding loan covenants and other corporate financial agreements.

● Expertise in tax, cash management, treasury, banking, and real estate.

Qualifications

● Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.

● Active CPA certification.

● 15+ years of experience in accounting.

● Relevant experience with Big 4 firms and public companies in government contracting and/or manufacturing sectors.

● Familiarity with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end closing processes in environments requiring consolidations and multiple subsidiaries, including international operations.

● Proven experience in developing internal controls and implementing policies and procedures.

● Demonstrated ability to manage and develop staff effectively.

● Strong prioritization skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
