Job Summary

In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the safety and health of our team members and the environment. You will integrate safety and health requirements into complex project planning, design, and operations to minimize risks and adverse impacts. Your expertise will be essential in preparing and implementing Safety and Health Management Plans, associated plans and procedures, and training programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the execution of the safety component of an Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) Program, encompassing technical and administrative aspects.
  • Help prepare and implement Safety and Health Management Plans, associated plans and procedures, and training programs.
  • Provide input to Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Subcontracts, Commissioning, and other groups to ensure safety and health requirements are integrated within project planning and execution.
  • Interpret safety and health requirements and provide comprehensive assistance on plan preparation, risk assessment, and ESH program execution.
  • Research moderately complex issues and regulatory requirements and prepare documentation and reports.
  • Support and guide safety studies, risk assessments, and program reviews and audits.
  • Participate in emergency response and incident investigation and resolution.
  • Interface and communicate with stakeholders and help resolve their concerns.
  • Participate in meetings with customers, team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct ESH inspections and monitoring to identify hazards and risks, evaluate controls and corrective actions, and assess compliance with contract, regulatory, project, and Bechtel requirements.
Requirements
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) related to occupational safety or health and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, which includes verification of employment and education.
  • Must be able to obtain site security badge for access to work site.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge in a field of Environmental Science, Safety and Health Management, or related discipline.
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety procedures, principles, and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of national environmental and safety laws/regulations and regulatory agencies' processes and responsibilities, industry standards/practices for compliance, and best management practices for minimizing potential ES&H risks during project execution.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction systems, methods, and work processes.
  • Knowledge of construction planning, estimating, procedures, subcontracting, and execution.
  • Experience in ES&H data management and analytic software programs (e.g.: Power BI, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access).
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials and physical risk exposures and Personal Protective Equipment standards as well as People Based Safety processes and procedures.
