HR Operations Leader

Reports to: Director of Human Resources

Target Steel is in search of a committed HR Operations Leader to oversee human resources policies and initiatives, ensuring adherence to regulations while cultivating a supportive workplace atmosphere. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Talent Acquisition and Integration:
    • Formulate and execute strategies to attract top-tier talent.
    • Oversee the recruitment lifecycle, including job advertisements, interviews, and candidate selection.
    • Manage the integration process for new hires, facilitating a seamless entry into the company.
  2. Payroll Administration:
    • Ensure accurate payroll processing for all staff, including hours worked, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and taxes.
    • Guarantee timely payroll submissions in line with the company’s payroll calendar.
    • Address payroll discrepancies and resolve issues related to employee compensation.
  3. Employee Relations:
    • Act as a resource for employee inquiries and concerns.
    • Facilitate conflict resolution and address employee issues promptly and effectively.
    • Encourage a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  4. Performance Evaluation:
    • Design and implement systems for assessing employee performance.
    • Support managers in conducting performance evaluations and establishing objectives.
    • Identify training needs and develop plans for employee growth.
  5. Learning and Development:
    • Evaluate the necessity for employee training and development initiatives.
    • Create and execute training programs that enhance employee capabilities.
    • Assess the effectiveness of training initiatives and implement improvements as needed.
  6. Compensation and Benefits Management:
    • Oversee the management of compensation and benefits programs.
    • Conduct salary surveys and benchmarking to ensure competitive pay practices.
    • Ensure compliance with legal standards regarding compensation and benefits.
    • Perform regular audits of HR processes to maintain compliance.
  7. HR Analytics and Reporting:
    • Monitor and analyze HR metrics to evaluate the success of HR programs and initiatives.
    • Prepare reports for senior leadership on HR-related topics.
    • Utilize data to inform decisions and recommendations for enhancing HR practices.
  8. Health and Safety Compliance:
    • Ensure organizational compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Develop and implement safety programs and initiatives.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
  9. Employee Engagement and Retention Strategies:
    • Formulate strategies to boost employee engagement and satisfaction.
    • Implement initiatives aimed at improving employee retention and minimizing turnover.
    • Organize events and activities to promote team cohesion and morale.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline. A master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years in human resources.
  • Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
    • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
    • Proven track record in managing and resolving complex employee relations matters.
    • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
    • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
