We are seeking an Experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer for BIW Assembly, with a strong background in Automotive Closures, Jigs and Fixtures, PG / UCF Gauges, and CMM / Free Scan Data. Experience with Automotive Class A and Aluminum is highly desirable.

Position Summary:
As the Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer for BIW, you will play a crucial role in transforming our operational processes and systems. Your expertise will be vital in developing and executing strategies that set new benchmarks for precision and efficiency in the industry. With your extensive knowledge in Closures, ability to lead cross-functional teams, and focus on eliminating inefficiencies, you will drive our ongoing pursuit of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage Tool & Die enhancements, ensuring the smooth integration of tooling into plant production operations for the BIW Assembly Process.
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of GD&T, Panel Gauge Measurement, and CMM to make critical adjustments essential for the manufacturing process.
- Promote lean manufacturing principles, guiding our team towards maximum efficiency and total waste reduction.
- Lead cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative atmosphere to seamlessly integrate advanced manufacturing strategies.
- Present engaging updates to executive leadership, highlighting the progress, innovations, and strategic direction of our stamping initiatives.
- Formulate and implement comprehensive strategies to enhance stamping processes, incorporating innovative solutions and cutting-edge technology.
- Identify and leverage opportunities for process optimization and waste minimization, applying creative solutions that significantly boost productivity and product quality.
- Create detailed project plans with defined objectives, timelines, and resource allocations, ensuring successful execution and outcomes.
- Stay informed about industry trends and advancements, boldly integrating state-of-the-art practices and technologies to maintain our competitive edge.
- Excel as a mentor, supporting the development of junior engineers and team members, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Possess working knowledge and best practices in Progressive Dies, Transfer Dies, Large Press Lines, Robot Transfer, Blank and Coil Feed, and more.
- Have experience with Equipment Buy-Off both Internationally and Domestically, understanding the requirements to bring equipment back to the Home Plant and qualify for Production Operations.
- Collaborate with a team of seasoned Tool Makers and BIW Assembly Engineers.
- Engage with Cross-Functional Teams throughout the Plant.
- Assist in managing Customer Expectations regarding Tooling Performance and Quality.
- Deliver Executive Level Presentations, addressing KPI's, Die Qualification Schedules, Maintenance, etc.
- Understand New Product Launch processes for the Manufacturing Plant.
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Candidates with a Master's degree will be highly regarded. Proven experience in managing capital projects, with the ability to lead, coach, and build cohesive cross-functional support teams.
- 5+ years of experience in Tooling Management within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of best practices for New Product Launch, Quality Improvements, and Corrective Action Measures.
- Ability to lead a cross-functional team effectively - must be a strong contributor.
- Position reports to the Body and Stamping Engineering Manager.
