Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Buildability Engineer - Product Launch Specialist to join our team at SWJ TECHNOLOGY, LLC. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for ensuring the buildability of new products and leading cross-functional teams to resolve issues related to product fit and functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional problem-solving activities to resolve buildability issues and ensure product launch success.
  • Develop and implement process control plans to ensure consistent product quality and meet vehicle inspection standards.
  • Collaborate with Chief Engineer Production (CEP) Hub, Research and Development (R&D), and other stakeholders to identify and implement product improvements.
  • Participate in early build phases of new models to investigate part buildability and identify unacceptable build conditions.
  • Support Pilot Team in build phases to confirm new-model buildability and work with R&D to implement solutions.
  • Work with Production team to identify top build concerns during Trial Build Phases and coordinate improvements with CEP-Hub and R&D.
  • Confirm Buildability Check in PPAP System for new supplier parts and utilize Zeus tracking system for implementation of countermeasures.
  • Reduce complexity of product design and commonize similar components to improve manufacturability and reduce input costs.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in German and English.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field of study.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience in Process Engineering, Quality Engineering, or Product Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of 3D Modeling Software (e.g., Solidworks, Siemens NX, AutoCAD).
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Working experience with Daimler Applications: Smaragd, Engineering Client, Dialog, Zeus.
  • Data Analysis and Problem-Solving Skills (5-Why Tool, 8D Problem Solving Method).

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret part/product drawings.
  • German Language Skills.
  • Experience implementing Product Improvements to resolve Buildability concerns.

Physical Requirements:

The work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to, sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
