Position Overview

The Robotic Clinical Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing the management and operational aspects of surgical robotic systems. This position is essential for ensuring the efficient scheduling and execution of robotic surgeries, collaborating closely with Operating Room (OR) Navigators to maintain optimal workflow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and manage the robotic surgery schedule, ensuring timely completion of both scheduled and additional procedures.
  • Exhibit strong leadership and teamwork skills, working in conjunction with healthcare professionals to enhance patient flow and scheduling.
  • Maintain and order inventory for instruments, accessories, and supplies related to robotic surgical procedures.
  • Develop and motivate team members, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and organizational effectiveness.
  • Serve as the primary contact for inquiries related to the da Vinci surgical system, providing guidance and support.
  • Conduct training sessions on the da Vinci system utilizing the Interactive Training Tool.
  • Utilize nursing processes to provide care for patients across all age groups, adhering to current standards of surgical practice and anatomy related to robotic surgery.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of surgical terminology, equipment, and protocols relevant to robotic surgery.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate Degree in Nursing - Required
  • Experience: 2-3 years in a related perioperative field - Required; experience in robotic surgical procedures or minimally invasive surgery is preferred.
  • Licensure & Certification: Professional Certification - Required; must possess a Registered Nurse License in the state of practice. CNOR or CST certification is preferred, along with ACLS certification within the first year of employment.

  • Coordinate schedules with anesthesia, surgeons, and staff to promote timely surgical starts.
  • Engage in service planning and development, staying informed of industry trends and supporting departmental initiatives.
  • Proactively review customer satisfaction scores and implement strategies for improvement, consistently demonstrating behaviors that enhance patient experiences.
