Position Overview

The Robotic Surgery Clinical Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing the management and operational aspects of surgical robotic systems. Reporting to the unit manager, this position is integral in ensuring the seamless scheduling and execution of robotic surgical procedures, collaborating closely with OR Navigators to facilitate efficient patient flow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the robotic surgery schedule, ensuring timely completion of both scheduled and additional procedures.
  • Exhibit leadership and teamwork skills while working alongside healthcare professionals to optimize staffing and patient scheduling.
  • Maintain an inventory of surgical instruments, accessories, and supplies pertinent to robotic surgery.
  • Develop and enhance team capabilities through motivation, assessment, and effective negotiation strategies.
  • Serve as the primary resource for inquiries related to the da Vinci surgical system, providing training and support as needed.
  • Utilize the nursing process to deliver care across various patient demographics, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations, adhering to current surgical standards and practices.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate Degree in Nursing - Required
  • Experience: 2-3 years in a related perioperative environment - Required; experience in robotic surgery or minimally invasive techniques is preferred.
  • Licensure & Certification: Valid Registered Nurse License in the state of practice - Required; Professional Certification is also required. Candidates should pursue ACLS certification within the first year of employment and demonstrate competency in maintaining national certification in their specialty area.
