Senior Financial Strategy Consultant

**Location:** Hybrid

**Role Overview:** As a Senior Financial Strategy Consultant, you will take the helm of a dedicated team focused on Financial Improvement & Audit Remediation (FIAR). Your leadership will guide a group of five professionals in executing thorough internal assessments for a substantial budget within the Space Systems Command/Communications and Guidance sector. You will be responsible for the final endorsement of automated testing protocols aimed at ensuring adherence to federal standards in anticipation of annual financial audits. Furthermore, you will utilize insights from various process enhancement evaluations to bolster audit preparedness for critical systems.

**Team Responsibilities:** Within the FIAR team, your role will encompass the implementation of audit methodologies, adherence to standards, and regulatory compliance. You will engage in internal audits and process refinement to pinpoint financial control deficiencies and develop Correction Action Plans (CAPs). Your contributions will be vital in delivering comprehensive financial and operational analyses to stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making regarding both immediate and long-term strategic objectives. This includes:
  • Assessing historical performance and planning strategically for the future.
  • Evaluating current and prospective opportunities and risks.
  • Identifying strengths and weaknesses within the financial framework.
  • Communicating essential financial insights to management effectively.


**Key Activities:** You will conduct internal sampling and evaluations of various financial units, including but not limited to:
  • Funds Receipt and Disbursement
  • Travel Pay
  • Government Purchase Card
  • Reimbursement Budget Authority and Execution
  • Contract and Vendor Payments
  • Quarterly Dormant Account Reviews


**Corrective Action Development:** Based on findings from internal evaluations, you will formulate actionable recommendations to address identified issues.

**Budgeting Support:** Collaborating closely with clients, you will provide financial and budgetary assistance for space acquisition initiatives, employing both quantitative and qualitative analyses. Your role will involve the development of budget forecasts, comprehensive reporting, and the presentation of findings and recommendations.

**Stakeholder Engagement:** You will provide critical financial and business insights to key stakeholders, facilitating informed operational and strategic decisions. This includes:
  • Measuring historical performance and planning strategically for the future.
  • Identifying financial opportunities and risks.
  • Highlighting business strengths and challenges.
  • Effectively communicating vital financial information to management.


**Qualifications:**
  • Experience with DARQ and AVANTA systems.
  • Secret Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in financial analysis, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Familiarity with Financial Improvement Audit Readiness (FIAR) testing and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
