The supply chain division at Space Exploration Technologies Corp plays a pivotal role in our operational success.
This position is integral to the launch site supply chain team.
Key functions of this team encompass procurement, strategic planning, fulfillment, supplier development, quality assurance, inventory management, and logistics.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee inventory targets, analyze balance sheets, synchronize demand and supply signals, maintain product master data, and cultivate expertise in internal systems and reporting tools.
Develop and implement comprehensive supply plans to mitigate risks and ensure timely and quality fulfillment of product needs.
Execute material resource planning (MRP) directives for production components.
Serve as the primary resource for engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and new product introduction teams in evaluating supplier value, sourcing strategies, cost analysis, and lead times.
Facilitate design for manufacturability assessments with input from supplier quality and engineering teams.
Lead value engineering initiatives aimed at enhancing part quality while reducing costs.
Address sole/single source risks to maintain supply continuity.
Proactively communicate critical supply issues to management and engineering teams.
Establish and nurture robust supplier relationships.
Conduct site visits to assess suppliers' technical capabilities, equipment, and production capacity.
Resolve discrepancies related to purchase orders and invoices.
Analyze procurement data and generate performance metrics.
Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced degree; or a bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience; or 6+ years of experience in one or more of the following fields:
Engineering
Purchasing
Contract negotiation
Material or production planning
Operations or supply chain management
Material cost control
Master production scheduling
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
1+ years of experience utilizing SQL for business analysis, product management, or ERP systems support.
Experience in technical procurement, manufacturing, and vendor management.
Ability to interpret datasheets, drawings, and blueprints.
Demonstrated leadership and team-building capabilities.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Familiarity with ERP systems and purchasing/planning functions.
Proficient in current technologies and applications (e.g., MS Office Suite, Access, SQL, etc.).
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
Ability to learn quickly and prioritize effectively to meet organizational needs.
Exceptional customer service orientation.
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of adapting to a dynamic environment.
Conduct all activities with the utmost integrity.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to pass a background check.
This role may require an adjusted work schedule.
Willingness to travel up to 35% of the work week, including international travel.
Availability to work extended hours and/or weekends as necessary to achieve key milestones.
This position requires onsite presence.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range:
Senior Logistics and Supply Chain Strategist:
$90,000 - $115,000 annually.
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
You will also have access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan, short & long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other benefits.
Employees accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and are eligible for 10 or more paid holidays each year.
