Position Overview

The Cost Control Specialist with ERP Expertise is essential in evaluating, overseeing, and managing expenses linked to production operations, inventory oversight, and overall business functions. This role demands exceptional analytical capabilities, proficiency in ERP platforms, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams to deliver precise cost evaluations, financial perspectives, and strategic guidance.

Compensation Range: $80K - $120K

Core Responsibilities

The primary duties encompass, but are not limited to, the following:

Key Functions:

- Employ ERP software systems to sustain and refresh cost accounting documentation, including standard pricing, cost distributions, and financial segments.

- Evaluate production expenses, such as raw materials, labor, overhead, and discrepancies, to guarantee the accuracy and thoroughness of cost information within the ERP framework.

- Formulate and uphold standard cost models for all offerings, integrating elements like material expenses, labor costs, overhead charges, and production discrepancies.

- Generate and scrutinize cost variance reports, juxtaposing actual expenditures against standard costs and pinpointing discrepancies, trends, and underlying causes.

- Collaborate with manufacturing, purchasing, and engineering departments to probe cost discrepancies, uncover cost-saving opportunities, and execute corrective measures.

- Conduct routine inventory reconciliations and perform cost of goods sold (COGS) assessments to ensure precise inventory valuation and sales costs.

- Aid in the budgeting and forecasting processes by delivering cost projections, analyzing trends, and recognizing risks and opportunities.

- Contribute to the formulation of cost reduction strategies and ongoing improvement initiatives to boost operational efficiency and minimize expenses.

- Engage in ERP system implementation projects, upgrades, and enhancements related to cost accounting functionalities.

- Ensure adherence to accounting standards, regulatory obligations, and internal controls concerning cost accounting and financial reporting within the ERP system.

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience with ERP software systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, or related positions within a manufacturing or production context.
  • Strong analytical abilities with the capacity to interpret data, assess trends, and derive meaningful insights.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and the capability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines efficiently.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and convey complex financial information clearly and succinctly.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement and achieving results.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting principles, manufacturing processes, and inventory management concepts.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, or other process enhancement techniques is advantageous.
