Position Overview

The Social Studies Educator plays a crucial role in executing the New Jersey Department of Education Core Curriculum Content Standards. This position is responsible for delivering a comprehensive program in Social Studies for both junior and senior high school students, particularly those with classified needs. The educator will embody the organization's Mission, Values, and Service Standard Behavior guidelines throughout their responsibilities.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience.
  • Completion of NJDOE Criminal History Review.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in History.
  • Experience in Special Education, particularly with adolescents.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • NJDOE Teacher of Social Studies or NJDOE Teacher of Social Studies Certificate of Eligibility.
  • NJDOE Teacher of Students with Disabilities Certification or a commitment to enroll in an approved Teacher of Students with Disabilities program prior to the start date. Documentation of programs and certifications must be submitted to the administration, and adherence to certification timelines is essential.
