Position Overview
The Social Studies Educator plays a vital role in delivering a comprehensive curriculum aligned with the New Jersey Department of Education Core Curriculum Content Standards. This position focuses on developing an engaging program for both junior and senior high school students, particularly those with special needs. The educator will embody the organization's Mission, Values, and Service Standard Behavior guidelines throughout their responsibilities.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience.
- Completion of NJDOE Criminal History Review.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in History.
- Experience in Special Education with adolescents.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Valid NJDOE Teacher of Social Studies certification or NJDOE Teacher of Social Studies Certificate of Eligibility.
- Certification in NJDOE Teacher of Students with Disabilities or commitment to enroll in an approved program prior to the start date.
