About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Social Studies educator to join our team at United Charter High Schools. As a Social Studies teacher, you will play a critical role in shaping the minds of our students and helping them develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students
  • Prepare students for success on the New York State Regents Social Studies exams
  • Emphasize the development of historical thinking skills, including critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving
  • Help students see the relevance of history, economics, and global studies in their everyday lives
  • Equip students with the tools necessary to be critical consumers, active citizens, and innovative problem solvers
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (Master's degree preferred)
  • Valid New York State Social Studies Certification
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated content knowledge and familiarity with Common Core State Standards
  • Demonstrated success in tailoring instruction to the needs of diverse learners
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve common goals
  • Experience working with educational technology
