**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Histology Supervisor to oversee our histology laboratory operations at KA Recruiting Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of histotechnologists and ensuring the timely and accurate processing of tissue samples for diagnostic purposes.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • **Supervise and Coordinate Laboratory Activities**: Oversee the daily activities of the histology laboratory, including specimen processing, embedding, cutting, staining, and coverslipping.
  • **Ensure Compliance and Quality**: Ensure compliance with laboratory protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements (CLIA, CAP, etc.) and monitor quality control and quality assurance measures to maintain high standards of accuracy and precision in histology testing.
  • **Train and Mentor Staff**: Train and mentor histotechnologists and other laboratory staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • **Troubleshoot Technical Issues**: Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure proper maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • **Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals**: Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely diagnostic information.
  • **Manage Inventory and Supplies**: Manage inventory and supplies to ensure adequate stock levels for uninterrupted laboratory operations.
  • **Participate in Departmental Meetings**: Participate in departmental meetings, performance improvement initiatives, and strategic planning activities.

**Requirements:**

  • Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Histotechnology, Biology, or a related field.
  • ASCP certification as a Histotechnologist (HTL) or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a histology laboratory, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
