Job Summary:

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Grant Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Criminal Justice Services department, you will be responsible for managing and administering federal and state grant programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor grant programs, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance
  • Provide technical assistance and support to grantees and stakeholders
  • Develop and implement grant writing training programs to improve constituent applications and program outcomes
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and criminal justice agencies to develop and carry out successful local criminal justice projects and programs
  • Assist in the development and presentation of grant proposals and reports

Requirements:

  • Experience with grant funded programs and activities, including grant review, monitoring, and reporting
  • Experience administering or monitoring grants-related budgets and/or financing
  • Documented experience in applying state and federal laws, rules, and regulations
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, and e-mail software
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to think strategically and cross culturally, and independently implement new initiatives and projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Documented experience in managing multiple grant programs, including experience with the grant application process, reviewing, monitoring, and providing technical assistance related to grants
  • Documented professional experience with grants management in a government agency
  • Documented experience ensuring compliance with grant performance measures and reporting requirements
