Position Title: Senior Grants Management Specialist

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Senior Grants Management Specialist. This role is essential in supporting our mission to secure vital external funding for various research initiatives.

We are currently looking for a Senior Grants Management Specialist to facilitate our research funding objectives. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in assisting with the development of grant proposals and contracts for our research teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with leadership and research faculty to identify and develop grant opportunities
  • Oversee the proposal process from initial concept through to submission
  • Assist in the preparation of grant applications and budget justifications
  • Ensure adherence to institutional and funding agency regulations
  • Streamline the proposal submission process
  • Coordinate documentation for subcontractors involved in proposals
  • Maintain standardized templates and descriptions for grant applications
  • Communicate policies and requirements to both internal and external stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in grant management and contract research proposals
  • Familiarity with relevant local, state, and federal regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and online grant management systems
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Adaptability to changing work environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work effectively both collaboratively and independently
  • A degree in business or a related field is preferred
  • Experience in pre-award and proposal development support
  • Knowledge of OMB cost principles and Uniform Guidance 2CFR200
