About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Propulsion Development Engineer to join our Propulsion Engineering team at Relativity Space. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving engine system trades, managing engine interfaces, and negotiating requirements to optimize for the vehicle. You will also support engine system development, analysis, and simulation, as well as engine testing and tool development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive engine system trades and manage engine interfaces to optimize for the vehicle
  • Negotiate requirements with partner teams to ensure successful integration and launch
  • Support engine system development, analysis, and simulation
  • Contribute to engine testing and tool development
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a science, engineering, technology, or mathematics field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in complex engineering system development and/or test environments
  • Experience applying engineering fundamentals in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics
  • Experience driving to deliver on ambitious schedules, even in unconventional and creative solutions
  • Experience applying knowledge of liquid-propellant rocket engines
Nice to Have
  • Working knowledge of fluid components such as valves and instrumentation
  • Working knowledge of engine subsystems such as combustion devices and turbomachinery
