Your Role and Responsibilities

As a vital member of the VCA team, you will support both Technician and Doctor teams by fostering a positive, low-stress environment for our clients and their pets. Your mission will be to earn the trust of every pet owner by providing exceptional client experiences, enabling us to deliver outstanding care to each patient. You have invested significant effort into obtaining your credentials (CVT, RVT, LVT), and we want you to leverage the expertise you have developed. Your skills will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting physical examinations and patient evaluations
  • Monitoring anesthesia
  • Preparing for and assisting in surgical procedures
  • Performing dental care
  • Executing radiographic procedures
  • Conducting laboratory analyses
  • Carrying out venipuncture
  • Placing catheters
  • Managing pharmacy tasks
  • Overseeing patient recovery
  • Providing compassionate care for hospitalized animals

In your supervisory capacity, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing workflow on the floor
  • Assisting in the educational development of technicians and their competencies
  • Participating in the interview process for prospective new team members
  • Scheduling technicians
  • Assisting in staffing and coverage as necessary
  • Facilitating training on basic protocols and standard procedures
  • Providing opportunities for staff to gain practical experience
  • Mentoring technicians within the department
  • Collaborating with department doctors to enhance service protocols
  • Ensuring adherence to VCA policies, guidelines, and recommendations by all technical staff members.
