Position Overview

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will take on a pivotal role in the design and development of intricate components and systems. Your expertise will guide the creation of engineering solutions for complex parts, ensuring that all associated documentation and validation processes are meticulously executed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Leadership: Assume a lead role in the design of sophisticated parts, providing insights on feasibility, cost-effectiveness, quality, and performance.
  • Analysis and Specification: Conduct thorough analyses and draft engineering specifications to evaluate the effectiveness of assigned components, ensuring compliance with functional safety standards.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Perform detailed investigations to understand and respond to testing and simulation outcomes.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Engage with various teams, including design, testing, manufacturing, and service, to ensure seamless integration of parts into the overall vehicle framework.
  • Supplier Coordination: Work closely with suppliers to align requirements, manage schedules, and promptly address any arising issues.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for enhancement within existing processes and systems to boost efficiency and key performance metrics.
  • Documentation Preparation: Independently prepare comprehensive documentation to submit essential information for approval at critical development stages.
  • Team Coordination: Facilitate team efforts on project tasks, identify the need for additional support, and promote team capability through training and mentoring.
  • Professional Development: Enhance your technical expertise and personal growth by engaging in training, coaching, and professional accreditation activities.
  • Industry Knowledge: Maintain a robust understanding of technology, regulations, and best practices through continuous education and industry engagement.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience, particularly in automotive design focusing on closure components.
  • Proficiency in Catia V5 Design Software, with experience in Generative Shape Design, Part Design, Assembly Design, DMU Navigator, DMU Kinematics, and Drafting.
  • Experience leading part development within a collaborative team environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
