POSITION TITLE: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

REPORTS TO: Nurse Manager

*Sign-On Bonus: $1,500-$2,500*

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, the LPN is responsible for delivering nursing care that guarantees clients receive optimal, high-quality, and cost-effective services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Foster a professional environment characterized by cooperation, respect, and dignity in all interactions with clients, their families, and team members.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of agency functions by adhering to established policies and standards of conduct.
  • Assist clients in following their prescribed care plans effectively.
  • Administer medications in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Monitor clients for potential signs of intoxication prior to medication administration.
  • Observe clients for possible side effects of medications and promptly inform the Nurse Manager or designated personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records of all medications received and dispensed.
  • Document and manage client medical records in compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage in casefinding, health education, health counseling, and provide supportive or restorative care under the guidance of a registered nurse.
  • Serve as a role model for both staff and clients.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with all staff members.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

  • Participate in job training and educational programs, meetings, and committees.
  • Attend mandatory annual in-service training.
  • Engage in various committees and meetings as requested.
  • Participate in seminars to enhance professional growth.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current New York State LPN License.
  • Current New York State Infection Control Certificate.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as an LPN, preferably in a substance abuse treatment setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
  • Competence in using computer systems.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess the necessary visual and tactile abilities, or have appropriate prosthetics, to fulfill the essential functions of the role.
