Pacifica Hotels is seeking a skilled and dedicated Culinary Operations Supervisor to enhance the culinary experience at our esteemed dining establishment. This role involves collaborating with the management team to ensure a streamlined and profitable kitchen operation, along with overseeing back-of-house functions.
As part of our culinary team, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional dining experiences characterized by innovative dishes, attentive service, and a stylish ambiance. Our menu features organic ingredients, sustainable seafood, and hormone-free poultry, showcasing a modern take on classic California cuisine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold health, safety, and comfort standards for both team members and guests.
- Utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in line with established guidelines.
- Maintain a positive and courteous demeanor while delivering personalized service.
- Effectively communicate with guests and team members to foster a collaborative environment.
- Assess staffing needs and food production requirements through careful planning and forecasting.
- Estimate and procure food supplies from vendors.
- Ensure food quality by guiding the culinary team in best practices.
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchen facilities and equipment to maintain cleanliness and functionality.
- Manage food costs in accordance with budgetary guidelines and take responsibility for departmental profitability.
- Participate in all mandatory meetings and disseminate information as needed.
- Support fellow team members and departments to optimize overall performance.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a similar role within a hotel or restaurant setting, demonstrating proficiency in food preparation, cooking, and presentation. Culinary school education is preferred. Experience in hiring, training, supervision, forecasting, and cost management is advantageous.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in English or bilingual.
- Capable of working across all kitchen stations.
- Adept at making timely and effective decisions.
- Strong organizational and delegation skills.
- Ability to foster positive team dynamics.
- Skilled in directing kitchen team performance and providing constructive feedback.
