Overview: Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) stands as a premier engineering consultancy specializing in power systems. We deliver a comprehensive suite of services including engineering design, system planning, technical advice, project oversight, surveying, environmental assessments, commissioning/testing, and construction management for electric utilities, energy developers, and industrial clients across the United States. Our expertise spans system voltages from 4.16 kV to 765 kV.

We are currently seeking experienced Project Managers for our offices in the locations mentioned above. A remote or hybrid work arrangement may be available for candidates with significant experience in substation design. The role encompasses the conceptualization, preliminary and final design of new, upgraded, and expanded substations, along with responsibilities for material procurement, construction oversight, and commissioning/startup support through to energization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the scoping, budgeting, scheduling, planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting of substation projects and proposals.
  • Oversee project teams consisting of engineers, designers, drafters, and support personnel.
  • Ensure adherence to ECI's quality control procedures for superior project execution and delivery.
  • Act as the primary liaison with clients and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical mentorship and training to design staff within project teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of project engineering experience, with at least 2 years in project management and leadership roles.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
  • Commitment to quality and precision in project execution.
  • Willingness to meet demanding project timelines.
  • Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of power engineering principles, be well-versed in relevant codes, standards, and design tools, and demonstrate the ability to manage multiple technical disciplines in the successful completion of substation projects. Candidates may be subject to client-mandated drug and background checks. Occasional travel may be required, and candidates must meet ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements. Sponsorship for employment visa status is not available.
