Position Title: Production Assembly Specialist

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Production Assembly Specialist plays a crucial role in the manufacturing of walk-in refrigeration units. This position entails adhering to established operating procedures, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products, and upholding a safe and orderly work environment. The Specialist will collaborate closely with fellow team members to achieve production objectives and enhance the overall productivity of the manufacturing workflow.

Teamwork and open communication are essential in this role, fostering a culture that values accountability, transparency, and the free exchange of ideas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble parts and subassemblies in accordance with production guidelines and technical drawings.
  • Operate and maintain the machinery and tools utilized in the manufacturing process.
  • Verify that products are assembled accurately and conform to quality benchmarks.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Notify the Production Supervisor of any quality concerns or inconsistencies.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhere to company policies and regulations.
  • Report any hazardous conditions or incidents to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Manage raw materials and components, including loading and unloading tasks.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized workspace, including regular cleaning and upkeep of equipment.
  • Assist with minor repairs and troubleshooting of production machinery.
  • Collaborate with other manufacturing personnel and departments to meet production targets.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status and challenges.
  • Engage in training and development initiatives to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and propose enhancements to production processes.
  • Construct pallets and crates as required for shipping purposes.
  • Be prepared to work overtime as needed based on business demands.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including tasks in other manufacturing departments.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in using hand and power tools (e.g., electric drills, jigsaws, metal snips, hammers).
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing operations and machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and dedication to quality.
  • Good physical condition and capability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team setting.
  • Experience with measuring instruments (imperial measurement system).
  • Competent in basic mathematical calculations.

Education and Experience:

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or production setting is preferred.

Language, Physical, and Travel Requirements:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions.
  • Occasional lifting of weights up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to commute to the Manufacturing Center.
