Position Overview:
Our client, a leading player in the retail and ecommerce sector, is in search of a Senior Manager of Site Merchandising to oversee Ecommerce Site Operations. This pivotal leadership position is essential in enhancing the customer experience for a specific department within the Strategic Business Units (SBUs). The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from visual merchandising to content strategy, functionality, and campaign planning at the departmental level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish trust rapidly and lead through influence, creating impact via collaboration and ownership.
  • Design an outstanding site experience tailored for your department.
  • Leverage customer insights to craft a cohesive narrative and ensure a seamless customer journey, managing visual merchandising, content strategy, site functionality including navigation, hierarchy, search, and product onboarding.
  • Identify key trend forecasts, articulate the department's storytelling roadmap, and utilize functionalities like taxonomy and search to enhance the customer journey, effectively engaging customers.
  • Monitor site performance and health through analytics and key performance indicators.
  • Oversee the creation of site metrics and dashboards to assess site health, providing strategic insights to internal stakeholders to influence the overall site direction.
  • Act as a vital strategic partner to internal stakeholders; collaborate with various teams to refine processes, identify opportunities, and scale best practices, driving continuous assessment and enhancement of the site's strategic direction.
  • Execute with excellence; establish efficient workflows, processes, and timelines, embedding operational excellence into all activities while developing team members to enhance their skills and performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in Merchandising, Site Merchandising, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree in Business or a related field is a plus.
  • 4+ years of demonstrated experience in team management.
  • 4+ years of experience in a consumer-focused ecommerce environment.
  • Strong customer-centric approach focused on delivering the optimal site experience.
  • Analytical and process-oriented mindset, comfortable with data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to set clear objectives and performance metrics for the team.
  • Proven capability to select and develop future leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Assertive, adaptable, and proactive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
